I'm trying to decide if I should split my characters into parts and use Spine for animation, or if I should create sprite sheets and go the traditional route. I won't be using vectors, if that makes a difference. Also, I'm using Unity, so I'm not even sure if importing animations will work with Spine, though I would assume that it would.
Does it really matter which one I use? Opinions?

Please see the Spine versus sprite sheets section on the Demos page:I'm trying to decide if I should split my characters into parts and use Spine for animation, or if I should create sprite sheets and go the traditional route.

You can download the spine-unity runtime and test what you want to do with example skeletons in it:Also, I'm using Unity, so I'm not even sure if importing animations will work with Spine, though I would assume that it would.

Note that you can also mix skeletal animation and frame based animation in Spine via sequences!
