Haenel Do you planning to make some particle editor software in the future? It would be nice addition to Spine 🙂 . P.S. I hate After Effects but i need to learn it anyway 🙁
Erika HI Hanael, a particle effect editor is not on our roadmap at the moment, many game engines already have theirs built in, and they vary so much it's best to leave the particles generation to them. Are you going to use AE for particles?
Haenel When i was working at small company we used to work in tandem with other animators. I was responsible for character animations and other guy was responsible for different particle effects. But few months ago our company fell apart. Because in most local job requirements particle editor is a must (mostly AE) a have to learn it but it seems too complicated. Can you please advise me any alternatives to AE?
Erika If you're going to use particles in a game, game engines tend to have each their own, if you're going to author each frame of the effect by hand, I can say a colleague of mine uses ToonBoom with pretty nice results, but he hand draws each frame.
Haenel Uhh one of the problems is that i am not an artist 🙁 . I cant draw characters or effects. So if i will use AE for particle effects i need to make their sequence and then use that sequence in Spine (frame by frame playback). That is my plan in theory.
