Hey guys, I'm having a problem:
the editor works, the animations are ok and everithing is fine BUT when I move my mouse on the images I get an error message and I don't know how to fix it... also when I export is fine BUT when I import in UNITY I get the same error: ERROR: Unable to read image file
Any idea?
Spine can't load images, but...

Do you still get the error if you rename the images to remove/replace the "._" at the beginning? underscores shouldn't really be a problem, but perhaps the dot is the cause?
Hey Erika, thanks for the answer, I think the "._" is automatically generated, I didn't named it that way... also I can't rename it inside spine (or at least I don't know how to do it). It looks like all the images are cloned... as you can see all the images marked are a duplicate of the original images in the lower part of the screenshot... not sure I'm clear. Do you think is possible that this happened when I moved the original file in a different folder?
Oh! could it be that you're on mac or someone using a mac exported these images, and these are the files that macs generate? I only use windows, but I noticed that when these sort of files are in a folder, they aren't really images, and deleting them in the folder itself (so, not in Spine) generally fixes the problem. Could this be your case?
Hey Erika, good point. I guess you are right since I'm using a Mac. I'm just trying to figure out how to get rid of these files since I can't actually see them...
Since it looks a bit complicated to remove these files, and I think Mac will always creates these little bastards whenever I duplicate a folder, isn't it possible to tell Spine to ignore these files? I don't know, in the next release maybe... just "ignore "._" files? Thanks a lot for your help, I'll try to remove the files!
By the way it looks like the Format version of the disk (ExFat or Mac OS Extended) has a role in the creations of these "._" files...
It's indeed an issue with the OS and your file system I'm afraid. Filtering them on our end is sort of not ideal, as it's hard to differentiate between what macOS spits into your folders, and legit uses of ._ files. Have a look at this SO answer for possible fixes on the OS side. https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/14980/why-are-dot-underscore-files-created-and-how-can-i-avoid-them
Hey Mario, thanks for the answer, I managed to delete the "._" files using Filezilla, I think it's the easiest way to do it... also I'll try to work only on MacOs Journaled formatted disks since the problem happend on FAT32 formatted disk.
It looks ok now. Thanks for your time guys.
We'll have Spine ignore files starting with ._
on macOS in 4.0.20.
