Hey guys,

since today Spine freezes constantly. After a few minutes it works again briefly until it freezes again. This makes Spine unusable for me. However, I have a project in the pipeline that really needs to be finished. When I start a new project, I have not observed this problem by the way.

The log file says: "WARNING: Extremely slow file system access: M:/....."
But i actually don't work on drive "M:". I copied the project to drive C: (because SSD) and started it from there.

Can someone help me please?

Spine Version: 4.0.24

kind regards
Max

Your image or audio node still must have a reference to the M: network drive. Please set them to your local C: drive.

Hi Mario,

thanks for your help. In the meantime I was able to fix the problem simply by saving the whole project as a new project:

  1. Copy Project-Folder to C:
  2. open project
  3. save as ...
  4. open the new (saved) project

Probably this updated the link in reference – but does an incorrectly linked reference lead to a program freeze?

It's not the reference per se that leads to the freeze, but the operating system telling Spine about the network drive, and Spine asking the OS about any changes to the files it uses on the networ drive. Sadly, that's not something we can fix on our end, as it is the operating system keeping Spine from updating while it tries to "answer" Spine's question about the files.
