  • Link Spine projects into one project

Hi Spine team,

is it possible to link multiple Spine projects into one project?
At the moment I reimport a project after changing it. But then I have to delete the old import and replace the object again.

Small background: I want to use Spine to place my objects in the scene.
But I also want to have one spine file per, so I can place one object in more that one scene.

Thanks,
Kolja

Hi,

I’m afraid to say but no such feature is available. Currently, it is difficult to try to compose a scene with multiple objects on the Spine editor. Just yesterday we published a video about the Timeline extension of the spine-unity runtime, and you may want to compose a scene in a game tool like this:
Blog: Combine animations in Unity using the Timeline extension

Just my two cents here, when I need to have multiple Spine skeletons interacting, but also need to animate each on their own, I simply keep all in one single Spine project.
Most of the time I only activate the skeleton I need to animate and forget about the rest.
When two skeletons have to interact in a single animation I activate just thw two and so on.
Since one can choose to export all the skeletons, just some, or just one, it's actually a very convenient workflow!

Hi
thanks for your feedback. We are using JNGL as our game engine so Unity tools don’t help.
I think based on the information, I will put every skeleton in a separate spine file and place the objects with a drag and drop in my scene.

Oh, I took the liberty of thinking that what you are creating is a video. (I thought the scene you were referring to was the scene in a video.) Sorry for the misguided recommendation. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post on this forum.
