  • (Feature Request) Please make Spine more friendly.

    First of all guys I would like to thanks for great app. But as a Mac user I have some problems with spine.

    • It's really annoying that every time I start spine it don't remember last window resolution and space. Everytime I need to resize it change desktop (Mavericks). That would be great if you guys could implement that.

    • renaming is really cumbersome, why double click simply won't change text to input? Like other apps those? I really hate that modal window.

    • Delete, why delete keystroke won't delete multiply layers? Nowhere i can delete anything with delete :/

    • I would love to see option for disabling ease for zoom, layer scroll and so one, that really annoying feature.

    • Some additional shortcuts like +/- for zoom in/out, space for pan. Or maybe window for shortcuts customization? Everyone would configure spine best for his needs.

    • I see that in one change log you have fixed the flickering window on resize, unfortunately I have the latest version and flickering still occurs (10.9)

    • Would love to see splitter bars so could adjust space on panels. Sometimes the dope sheet is just too small.

    That's all that bothers me the most, sorry for poor english.

    Btw. can't wait for free-form deform, I'm working right now in projects that has a character with tail and would love to animate it in that way, instead of drawing additional sprites.

        Yep. I think the app is good from engineering point of view. Now it's in a phase when it require some usability improvements.

        I'd suggest you to investigate how new users interact with the application. Don't ask what they think, just watch them ( suffering 🙂 ) and write it down.

          Click Spine (top left) > Settings > Untick 'Linear Filtering' > Enjoy pixels. 🙂

              yeah, you right. I have added your feature request on my first topic so it won't be lost.

              Maybe Nathan and Soeren will take that into consideration.

                  You can already adjust the sizes. You can drag the Dopesheet button itself up and down to resize the panel. The same thing with the tree and the little arrow on the top right.

                    Window size, looks like a bug, fixed.

                    Renaming in a textbox or dialog is the same, you double click or F2, you type, you press enter. More important things to do than make it look different. 🙂

                    Spine doesn't have layers? :wait:

                    Hotkey configuration UI will happen someday.

                    The flicker is odd, doesn't happen to every Mac user. Not high priority since resizing the window isn't terribly common.

                      Delete Shortcuts

                      About Layers I meant elements in tree at this moment if user wants to delete element he need to click on it + click on "X" button + click Ok in delete dialog.

                      So much click for a such simple task. Why simply not adding a delete shortcuts that will only show popup with a checkbox with "don't ask me anymore". That will apply as well for the "x" button.

                      Open In from Finder

                      Another thing that I thing is problematic on mac is .spine file linking, why come I can't double click spine file and it will open in spine? either drag-n-drop on dock icon? That for some time is very annoying.

                      Export Dialog

                      Any way to make export save dialog more like Open Dialog?

                      Btw. How I can on Mac make another instance of spine? I know about "Single Instace" in Settings but then what?

                      Delete confirm, good idea.

                      Open by double clicking, because OS X makes this difficult. For now there is a workaround here:
                      viewtopic.php?p=9115#p9115

                      Export dialog, I believe if you use the "Spine (system Java).app" to launch Spine then you will get a better dialog.

                      Spaces, strange. I have no idea why it wouldn't show up, and Google doesn't seem to be any help. 🙁
