adele Sorry for the trouble! The error message means that Spine has detected that the project is in an invalid state. This happens, for example, when the Spine project has a selection group that contains a reference to a slot that has already been deleted. I'm not sure what version of the Spine editor you are using, but the bug certainly existed in older versions. If that was the cause, resetting the selection groups may allow you to save the project.
adele I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem with Spine 4.1.23. This problem is due to the fact that references to deleted items remain, and it can be difficult to fix the problem without sending the data to us once, especially if the problem occurs in a newer version.
Spine stores copies of your projects in the backup
subfolder of your user folder each time you save. Could you please email the Spine project just before the problem occurred and tell us which bones we need to delete to reproduce the problem?: contact@esotericsoftware.com
