Problem with scaling during animation
Hi,
I seem to be having an issue with scaling specific bones during animation while not scaling their children. Hopefully I am able to explain the issue clearly.
I tick the "child bones wont be affected by the parent bone" button in the "compensate" box, scale a parent bone, then translate the child bones to meet the parent to compensate for the scaling, then tick the yellow scale and translate keys to set the key frame for those bones. Everything looks as it should, until I move the timeline to view the animation, at which point the child bones change quickly and are scaling along with the parent bone as if I had not ticked the button to prevent it.
Is this most likely a user error, or a possible bug?
Also, is it possible to scale a parent bone so that child bones follow the parent without scaling, so that the child bones don't have to be manually moved into place?
Thank you
This is due to the child bone actually compensating, so the scale changes on the child. Press k to key all changes or select the child bone and notice it has actually changed its values.
We might revise the behaviour of this, but it is not a bug.
Regarding scaling with the child following is something we want to add, more about this when we lock down exactly on how we will be doing it.
Thank you for the quick reply!
