  • Hotkeys in Linux 64bit stop working

Hello,

  1. Start Spine
  2. Hotkeys work
  3. Switch focus away from Spine to another window and then back
  4. Hotkeys generally do not work.
  5. Must restart Spine to get Hotkeys working again.

Also, I tried running Spine on the Enlightenment and also XFCE desktop. Spine had the same issue both times.

All hotkeys or just ones that use specific modifier keys? Space still works to deselect?

It appears that all hotkeys do not work including space and the ctrl + "letter" combinations (ie ctrl-z, ctrl-c, etc).

FYI, I checked to see if this issue might have magically disappeared in v2.0.12 (originally reported for for v1.9.17), but it is still there.

Very strange. I don't see the problem in my Lubuntu 64 running in Virtual Box. Not sure what I can do. 🙁

Many of the shortcut keys no longer work in Ubuntu 14.04. For instance, Ctrl+S does not save the project, I need to go to the menu and click "Save"

Edit: I would like to add that it seems like the reason is that modifiers don't always get released correctly. For instance, doing Ctrl+Alt+Right to switch workspaces seemingly makes Spine think that Alt is still pressed when I go back to it.

pasta al dente, can you verify your issue is that a modifier key is stuck? To "fix" this, after returning to Spine just press and release each modifier key to ensure Spine sees the latest state and not the state when the Spine window lost focus.

I will look into fixing the modifier keys sticking.

Nate, that fixed it. I usually use Alt-Tab to switch to different windows. Hotkeys appear to stop working in Spine when I switch back. When this happens, if I briefly press the Alt key, all Hotkeys appear to start working again.

If I go to another window and back to Spine just using the mouse and lazy focus, the Hotkeys work fine.

So modifier keys not being released correctly appears to be the issue and pressing the modifier keys seems like a good temporary workaround. Thanks!
